In Mexico in the summer of 1996, Neely met Santiago, a cobbler, and his family, Martha, & Paulina, whose simple sandals were a wardrobe staple among the villagers and visitors alike. Created for women of all ages, the hand-sewn shoes are both easy-to-wear and stylish.The sturdy comfortable construction is courtesy of the 70 cobblers and artisans who hand-sew the shoes in a Mexican town where the similarities between their home and Charleston are evident – both are quaint, yet cosmopolitan and have plenty of cobblestone streets.Many thoughtful modifications to the original designs resulted in the line worn by women stateside who appreciate the treaded soles, elastic straps, wash-ability and over 100 bold colors and patterns – all signatures of the brand.
